Legend of the White Snake A little white snake was born in the mountains and was determined to turn into a dragon. It practiced silently for thousands of years, doing good deeds and saving people from danger. Once, the little white snake saved a scholar and was moved by his sincerity. It turned into a human form and stayed with him for several years. However, the heavenly law did not allow the demon to fall in love with humans, so the little white snake was suppressed in Leifeng Pagoda. Later, because of the completion of merits, it was released and ascended to heaven. It got the blood of the dragon clan and turned into a dragon and snake god. It was included in the Chinese zodiac, symbolizing transformation, wisdom and forbearance.
