Blessings from Heaven Zhu Bajie was the former Marshal of Tianpeng. He was demoted to the mortal world and mistakenly reborn as a pig because he flirted with Chang'e while drunk. Although he looks naive, he is kind-hearted. He protects Tang Monk on his journey to the west and eventually becomes the messenger of the altar. Although he is lazy and greedy, he never leaves, representing the truth and tolerance of human nature. Pigs symbolize blessings, harvests and satisfaction, and also represent the perfection and abundance of life.
