Loong Legend
The Four Seas Dragon Kings In ancient times, the four seas were frequently hit by floods and the wind and rain were unpredictable. The Jade Emperor ordered the Azure Dragon, Red Dragon, White Dragon, and Black Dragon to guard the East China Sea, South China Sea, West China Sea, and North China Sea, and named them the “Four Seas Dragon Kings”. They are in charge of clouds, rain, thunder, and lightning, regulating the climate of the four seasons, and protecting the growth of all things. When people encounter droughts and pray for rain, they all worship the Dragon Kings. The dragon symbolizes authority, auspiciousness, and the power to control nature. It is a sacred bridge between heaven and earth and the human world, and is also the totem and spiritual symbol of the Chinese nation.
